LEWIS PERDUE
I wrote a book on The French Paradox Back in 1992. The science has evolved since then, and has pretty much erased the near-certainties that were expressed in that book. But the contents of the book were based on the best published scientific studies of moderate wine consumption at the time, but we never scientifically causal.
The same causality shortcomings afflict studies that associate health harms with any level of alcohol consumption.
We need to remember that associations do not equal causality.
I have an academic and vocational background in biology, organic chemistry, environmental science, high-energy physics and nuclear engineering.
I graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. degree (With Distinction) in 1972.
